Excite Mail Becomes Easier for Users With Shift to 'Excite.com' Domain

Millions of Web-Based Email Users Call Excite Home Base

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Excite, Inc. today announced that the company will give its millions of Mail Excite users a shorter email address with the evolution from the company's MailExcite to its new Excite Mail. Effective immediately, users who previously had mailexcite.com email addresses will now simply be able to use excite.com addresses.

The new Excite Mail is located at www.mail.excite.com, or accessible through Excite's front page at www.excite.com. The site offers a simpler, easy-to-use interface and quicker performance for users.

For existing Excite Mail users, the mailexcite.com domain will continue to work; all mail sent to a user's mailexcite address will be automatically forwarded to their new excite.com address. Excite employees have already transitioned from the excite.com domain to an internal domain system. Since Excite's free, Web-based email service launched in July 1997, the company has signed up millions of email users.

Free Business Cards Along With Free Email

To celebrate the launch of Excite Mail, Excite will give away free business cards to the first 10,000 Excite Mail users who sign up for the promotion. The promotion, done in collaboration with iPrint, will run from late November until the 10,000th user has signed up. Each early registree will receive 100 free business cards prepared using information provided by the user on a standard template.
