Woyaa! and Critical Path to Offer Free Web Mail to African ISPs

Critical Path Extends its Global Reach with Quality Web-based Email Offerings; Rapidly Emerging Internet Market in Africa Will Have Access to AFROMAIL.NET

LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 18, 1998-- Woyaa! Internet Africa, the premier Internet portal and navigational guide dedicated to Africa, and Critical Path, Inc., the leading global provider of outsourced email services to Internet service providers (ISPs) and portals, today announced an agreement to provide free Web-based email to all African ISPs.

This new service, AFROMAIL.NET, includes 90 days of free POP3 email accounts in addition to the free integrated Web-based email available for the life of contracts signed prior to Dec. 31, 1998.

AFROMAIL.NET can be launched immediately by participating ISPs, giving them a quick and cost-effective way to provide their customers with state-of-the-art email services. The Web-based email interface developed by Critical Path is fully customizable, enabling ISPs and their business customers to incorporate and leverage their own brand identities.

AFROMAIL.NET enables ISPs to offer direct customers email addresses at the ISP's domain address, or provide business customers with email services using the company's own domain name. AFROMAIL.NET is compatible with all leading POP3 email interfaces, including Microsoft Outlook and Eudora. Additionally, the Web-based email interface allows end users to check their email anytime, anywhere, from any browser-enabled PC or kiosk.

The Internet market in Africa is emerging rapidly. Woyaa! and Critical Path are uniquely positioned to provide the highest quality email service to a majority of these users through AFROMAIL.NET.

``AFROMAIL.NET gives African ISPs the ability to get their customers up and running quickly, without the costs and time constraints associated with setting up a proprietary email system,'' said Noel Yavo, CEO and co-founder of Woyaa! ``This service gives ISPs a low-cost email solution to deploy now, plus an opportunity to generate revenue later, as customers adopt value-added features, such as unified messaging, certified delivery, and permanent archiving of messages.''

``Email is one of the most crucial elements of an ISP's service offerings,'' said Doug Hickey, chief executive officer of Critical Path, Inc. ``We are working with Woyaa! to assist African ISPs in providing their customers with world-class email services, while enabling them to concentrate on other mission-critical aspects of their business.''

ISPs interested in AFROMAIL.NET's free Web-based email service should email sales@afromail.net, or telephone 212/504-8349, +33-1-530 12 714, +44-171-691 79 68, or +32-2-706 51 47.
